2023 Spring Retreat Update

We were thrilled to 25 people join us for the inaugural retreat of the Alabama Meditation Network (AMN) at Living River retreat center near Montevallo. The retreat was the culmination of seven months of planning, and brought together participants from three meditation communities (Cahaba River Sangha, Burning Rock Soto Zen, and Birmingham Shambhala). We also attracted roughly a dozen solo practitioners, several of whom were attending a meditation retreat for the first time.

Everyone came away from the Living River event with a deep appreciation for the value of meditation retreats. We definitely have enough momentum to offer another weekend retreat, along with a daylong pop-up, over the next few months. Stay tuned!
